Bill and Susan Sokol-Blosser were truly pioneers when they began Sokol-Blosser winery and vineyards in 1971. From 1988 – 1996 they made Redland; which was their top of the line Pinot Noir in those vintages. A blend of their Durant, Hyland, and Sokol Blosser Vineyard grapes, this spectacular combination produced rich, balanced wines quite worthy of aging.

These Redland wines were youthful when last tasted in 2015. Chairman Atwood believes they should be drinking remarkably well right now. We are indeed tasting his last 6 bottle vertical. These wines were made by then winemaker John Haw and have been stored properly since each vintage was released.

We will start with 2013 Sokol Blosser Brut, Willamette Valley Sparkling Wine. Then the great 1993, 1992, 1991, 1990, 1989, and 1988 Sokol Blosser Redland Pinot Noirs. Tasting Notes for the vertical are attached. Afterwards, 2002 Sokol Blosser Late Harvest Riesling to compliment El Gaucho’s complimentary Fruit and Cheese plates.

El Gaucho is the Northwest’s Steakhouse Legacy.  We will have a dedicated Captain and Server for our party.

The Vintage Room holds up to 20.  But with COVID-19 safe dining rules in place, this dinner will be strictly limited to a maximum of 10 persons.  There will be plenty of room for 6 Reidel Oregon Pinot Noir glasses per person. This dinner will be “Dutch Treat”.

Dinners at El Gaucho cover quite a range. ORDER OFF THE MENU.  Get whatever you want.  Share the expense according to what you order.  You can order a Fire Roasted Half Chicken for $34 or Chateaubriand for $138 or anything in between plus sauces and side dishes. Standard gratuities will apply.

El Gaucho Portland Cigar Lounge is available after dinner for attendees interested in Port and a Cigar.

It has been quite a while since we dressed up for an event.  So this one is Black Tie Optional.

NOTE:    Valet Parking is available for additional cost but downtown parking meters offer Free Parking on the streets beginning at 7:00 pm.
