Time: 6:10 pm Location: Snouffer Residence Location: Bill & Kathi Snouffer’s home (in Arranmore) 6535 SW Chelsea Place, Portland, OR 97223 Click here to register online Click here for a printed registration. $85 Members, $105 Guest Limit 18 This is our first event following the pandemic shutdown. We've switched from the Stinson-Erdman home this year since the Snouffers have terraced decks in their back yard. Guests can access seating via gates at top and bottom of property eliminating clogging in entryway, and there are three bathrooms on different levels through patio doors. This will allow more "social distancing." Bring out your "chicken hats" and join the WFSO’s annual Bastille Day Fete with “affordable” French wine and a casual dinner. Sorry We must limit this event to the first 16 who sign up. Bastille Day marks the end of the French monarchy and the beginning of the French Revolution exactly 231 years ago in 1789. In 1880 Bastille Day was proclaimed a French national holiday. In France, most folks take Bastille Eve off and celebrate with festive balls and brilliant displays of fireworks – we will celebrate with tasty food and wine! Our chef is putting together a lovely menu for a warm summer day and Bob Liner, Galaxy Wines, has provided an outstanding list of wines (some old favorites and some new additions) to go with the food. A special opportunity to order wines will again be offered at the event. Starter Wine Chateau Haut Rian Bordeaux Rose 2019 Whites With Appetizers O. Savary Chablis 2018 Domaine Bregeon Muscadet Sevre et Maine 2018 Reds With Main Chateau Pey-Martin Medoc 2015 Clos de la Brosse Saint-Amour 2017 With Dessert Domaine Durban Muscat Beaumes des Venise 2018 Glasses will be provided, but you may want to bring 2 or 3 large bowl glasses per person for a better tasting experience. |
